**Role Summary:**
Support the AI & Machine Learning team in advancing intelligent automation for clinical and healthcare claims data. Drive end‑to‑end machine‑learning workflows, develop generative AI and large‑language‑model (LLM) solutions, and evaluate model performance for recommendations across the claim lifecycle.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver functional prototypes that demonstrate the feasibility of AI‑driven decision support for claims processing.
- Apply research‑grade methods to extract actionable insights, classify claim states, and recommend next‑best actions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (data scientists, ML engineers, product managers) to align research objectives with product goals.
- Participate in model deployment, monitoring, and maintenance efforts to ensure reproducibility and reliability.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, implement, and evaluate machine‑learning and generative‑AI models on structured and unstructured claims data.
- Apply NLP and LLM techniques to extract insights, classify claim states, and generate operational recommendations.
- Integrate prototypes into existing ML pipelines, including model serving and deployment on cloud platforms.
- Perform model evaluation, including bias, fairness, and safety assessments.
- Document research findings, experiment results, and prototype performance metrics.
- Communicate progress and research insights to stakeholders and product teams.
**Required Skills:**
- Strong foundations in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Statistics, and NLP.
- Proficient in Generative AI and Large‑Language Models.
- Experience with end‑to‑end ML workflow design (data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, serving).
- Demonstrated research capability (publications, preprints, or independent projects).
- Familiarity with distributed data environments (e.g., AWS, Databricks) and healthcare claim or EHR data formats is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of model evaluation for safety, fairness, and bias.
- Good communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary setting.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Currently pursuing a PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Computational Biology, or a related field.
- Completion of coursework or certifications covering Machine Learning, Deep Learning, NLP, and Generative Modeling is required.
