Job Description
**Job Title** Senior Application Developer **Role Summary** Lead the design, development, and support of Cerner application and reporting solutions in a healthcare environment. Execute complex Cerner CCL customizations, custom mPage and XR template development, and reporting tasks while providing technical leadership, mentoring juniors, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize system performance and data architecture. **Expectations** - Deliver high‑quality Cerner application enhancements and reporting solutions on time and within budget. - Maintain subject‑matter expertise in Cerner CCL, DA2, Discern/PowerInsight, and Cerner data model. - Lead gap analysis, solution design, and implementation for business requirements. - Mentor junior staff, provide training, and facilitate knowledge transfer. - Proactively identify and drive workflow optimizations and system innovations. **Key Responsibilities** - **Reporting & Analytics**: Design and develop standard and ad‑hoc reports with CCL and Discern/PowerInsight; create operational jobs, monitor delivery, and integrate data into enterprise analytics platforms. - **Technical Leadership & System Support**: Independently manage complex system activities, serve as technical resource for Cerner build, design, and infrastructure; develop custom mPages, XR templates, and ad‑hoc CCL customizations; support DA2 and PowerInsight security provisioning. - **Solution Design & Development**: Analyze business requirements, conduct gap analysis, define scope, and implement technical solutions. - **Customer Service & Collaboration**: Respond professionally to tickets, enhancements, and inquiries; communicate effectively with users, vendors, and IT peers. - **Performance Improvement & Innovation**: Act as SME for reporting and CCL logic; identify workflow improvements; champion business transformation initiatives. - **Project Management & Teamwork**: Support project planning, milestones, and task tracking; lead small‑to‑medium projects; manage multiple priorities. - **Training & Knowledge Transfer**: Train new staff on Cerner applications and reporting tools; partner on vendor and customer training. **Required Skills** - Cerner CCL programming (≥5 years); DA2, Discern, PowerInsight administration. - Cerner Millennium experience. - Custom mPage and XR template development. - SQL, Tableau, or similar analytics tooling. - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. - Ability to mentor, train, and collaborate across teams. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. - If no bachelor’s degree, 9 years of relevant experience required. - Minimum 5 years professional experience; at least 3 years in a healthcare IT environment. - Cerner data modeling experience (≥1 year). **Preferred / Priority Skills** - Consulting or project‑management experience. - Soarian Reporting, HealtheAnalytics, or clinical workflow exposure. - Experience with Olympus or similar platforms.
