Job title: IT Systems Administrator
Role Summary:
Provide end‑to‑end management of Windows Server infrastructure, Active Directory, Azure‑hosted services, and Microsoft 365. Deliver proactive system installation, configuration, patching, backup, and disaster recovery while ensuring high availability and performance. Participate in incident, problem, and change management, and mentor junior staff.
Expectations:
- Maintain reliable operation of production, staging, and development environments.
- Execute root‑cause analyses and restore services during outages.
- Demonstrate detailed, methodical troubleshooting and clear documentation.
- Communicate status, findings, and recommendations to internal teams and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Windows Server (2016/2019+) environments.
- Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SMB, RDP, GPO, and related services.
- Monitor system performance, review logs, and optimize resources to prevent downtime.
- Manage Azure‑hosted services and Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Power Platform).
- Configure Conditional Access Policies in the Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Center.
- Maintain backups, disaster recovery plans, and ensure data protection.
- Lead incident and problem management, documenting root causes and corrective actions.
- Participate in system performance testing and change management procedures.
- Provide off‑hours maintenance support as required.
- Produce proposals, reports, and documentation for stakeholders.
- Contribute to knowledge base and end‑user training materials.
Required Skills:
- Windows Server administration (2016/2019+).
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, SMB, RDP.
- Azure services administration and Microsoft 365 management.
- PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.
- System performance monitoring, log analysis, and resource optimization.
- Incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Ability to mentor junior team members.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Science, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3–5 years of systems administration experience.
- Professional certifications preferred: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, MCSA, or CCNA.
- VMware virtualization experience and knowledge of security compliance standards.
