Job Description
**Job title:** DevOps Engineer Jr **Role Summary:** Supports the creation, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of software applications and systems on cloud and on‑premise infrastructures. Coordinates third‑party integrations, ensures compliance with security and SDLC standards, and maintains continuous integration/deployment pipelines. **Expactations:** - Maintain Top Secret security clearance. - Demonstrate at least one year of DevOps or related experience, with SAFe, Scrum or Kanban proficiency. - Possess basic scripting/programming skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell). - Ability to work with Linux, containers, cloud services, and configuration management tools. **Key Responsibilities:** - Deploy and configure services on IaaS platforms (AWS, Azure, GCE, OpenStack). - Manage Linux-based web servers, debug cluster architectures, and implement monitoring tools (Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus). - Configure and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt). - Design, develop, and sustain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps). - Maintain, update, and support third‑party (COTS/GOTS) and internal software, APIs, and integrations. - Perform code reviews, vulnerability scanning, and unit/integration/system testing. - Develop automated ETL processes for structured and unstructured data sources. - Provide documentation, training, and support for new applications and updates. - Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and recommend continuous improvements. - Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices. **Required Skills:** - Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCE, OpenStack. - Containerization: Docker, LXC, Rocket. - Configuration management: Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt. - CI/CD tooling and scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell). - Monitoring and logging: Open‑source tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack). - Agile practices: SAFe, Scrum, Kanban. - Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and communication skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Top Secret security clearance required. - Minimum one year of relevant experience; certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Certified Jenkins Engineer) acceptable substitutes. - Formal education not explicitly required but a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred.
