Job Description: Job Title: Software Engineer, Backend Role Summary: Design, develop, test, and maintain large-scale distributed backend services, ensuring high reliability, scalability, and performance. Own end‑to‑end feature delivery, lead code reviews, and participate in on‑call and incident response. Expactations: - 4+ years of production backend engineering experience (or 2+ years with a master’s degree). - Strong ownership mindset with ability to drive design and implementation from concept to production. - Deep focus on customer success and continuous improvement of system reliability. Key Responsibilities: - Lead design and implementation of large subsystems, owning architecture decisions. - Write high‑quality, scalable code; conduct thorough code reviews and test plan evaluations. - Build and operate cloud‑native services on AWS and Kubernetes, integrating secure databases and messaging systems. - Participate in on‑call rotations, post‑incident reviews, and service‑level monitoring. - Collaborate with customers and design partners to translate business needs into technical solutions. - Mentor junior engineers and elevate the engineering bar across the team. - Explore and integrate LLM‑driven capabilities into backend pipelines. Required Skills: - Proficiency in backend languages (e.g., Go, Java, Python) and modern web frameworks. - Experience building high‑throughput, low‑latency services for concurrent workloads. - Hands‑on experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, etc.) and Kubernetes orchestration. - Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, caching layers, and message queues. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring/observability tools. - Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills. - Passion for AI; background in building or consuming LLM‑powered applications is a plus. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or Master’s degree with equivalent industry experience. - Certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) or Kubernetes are desirable but not mandatory.
