Job title: Salesforce Leader
Role Summary
Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of Salesforce solutions for a Maryland state agency. Own architecture, performance, scalability, and integration of Salesforce CRM, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards while driving continuous improvements and innovative uses of new platform releases.

- Demonstrate deep technical expertise and strategic vision for CRM architecture.
- Manage resources, coaching, hiring, and performance of a small to medium Salesforce team.
- Champion best practices, security, and compliance across all environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather business requirements, perform analysis, and translate them into functional specifications.
- Design, build, and support production Salesforce applications and batch processes across dev, test, and production environments.
- Maintain system availability, performance, and scalability; monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents.
- Oversee Salesforce releases, integrations (MuleSoft, APIs, 3rd‑party tools, ETL), and data quality initiatives.
- Ensure all development follows the defined CRM architecture roadmap and enterprise standards.
- Lead architectural reviews, validate non‑functional requirements, and produce solution designs.
- Conduct annual performance reviews, coaching, training, and recruitment for direct reports.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to prioritize and deliver iterative project outcomes.
- Stay current on Salesforce product releases; influence product roadmap and internal best practices.
Required Skills
- 12+ years of progressive experience in enterprise Salesforce environments.
- 8+ years of hands‑on Salesforce/Force.com platform work (configuration, deployment, API integration).
- Strong knowledge of MuleSoft integration, ETL processes, and third‑party integration tools.
- Proven experience in solution architecture, system design, and technical leadership.
- Excellent project management, stakeholder communication, and team‑leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with governance, security, and compliance in a public‑sector context.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
- Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or equivalent advanced Salesforce certifications.
- Additional certifications in MuleSoft, Integration, or Data Management are a plus.
