**Job title:** AI/ML Engineer – Insurance Domain (GCP)
**Role Summary:**
Data‑driven engineer responsible for designing, developing, and deploying machine learning solutions for Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance products on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Collaborates cross‑functionally to transform business problems into algorithmic models, ensuring scalable, reliable delivery from concept to production.
**Expecations:**
- Apply 4–6 years of practical AI/ML experience in cloud environments.
- Lead end‑to‑end life cycle of ML initiatives within the insurance domain.
- Exhibit strong analytical, communication, and leadership capabilities.
- Base operations in Toronto and work hybrid in compliance with local regulations.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design and prototype ML models addressing underwriting, rating, claims, and risk analytics for P&C insurance.
- Implement end‑to‑end pipelines using GCP services (AI Platform, BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage).
- Translate business requirements into data strategies, feature engineering, and model selection.
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain models in production, ensuring performance, accuracy, and compliance.
- Collaborate with data engineers, product managers, and domain experts to integrate ML outputs into operational workflows.
- Mentor junior team members and share best practices in model governance and reproducibility.
**Required Skills:**
- Proficiency in Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit‑learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
- Advanced SQL for data extraction and transformation.
- Experience with GCP services: AI Platform, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Vertex AI.
- Hands‑on knowledge of ML pipelines, version control (Git), CI/CD, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong grasp of statistical modeling, feature engineering, evaluation metrics, and model explainability.
- Familiarity with insurance domain concepts, particularly P&C rating and underwriting processes.
- Effective problem‑solving and strong verbal and written communication skills.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Actuarial Science, or related field.
- Relevant certifications such as GCP Professional Data Engineer or GCP Professional Machine Learning Engineer highly preferred.
