Job Description: Software Engineer Role Summary Hands-on Full-Stack Software Engineer to build production-grade services integrating laboratory workflows, sequencing metadata, and bioinformatics pipelines into scalable scientific systems. Focus on backend development, data modeling, cloud deployment, and UI where needed. Expectations 3-6 years’ experience building and operating backend services in production. Requires cross-disciplinary collaboration, reliability ownership, and clear communication with non-engineers. Key Responsibilities - Design/implement backend REST APIs linking lab operations and bioinformatics pipelines. - Own data modeling, schema design, migrations, and PostgreSQL database performance. - Architect async job execution patterns (queues, workers, audit logs). - Integrate cloud infrastructure (GCP: storage, compute, authentication). - Implement CI/CD, containerization, monitoring, security, and operational runbooks. - Develop lightweight UI interfaces for workflow management, monitoring, and results (React/TypeScript). - Collaborate with scientists to translate workflows into scalable systems.
