Job title: People Operations Generalist
Role Summary: Front‑line People Ops specialist supporting 350+ hourly fulfillment staff across all shifts. Responsible for employee relations, benefits administration, leave and accommodation management, and compliance, acting as the first contact and trusted advisor to warehouse supervisors and operations leadership.
Expactations: • 3–5 years HR generalist experience in warehouses, distribution or manufacturing environments.
• Proven employee relations background: investigations, coaching, performance management and terminations.
• Extensive leave and accommodation administration (family, disability, workplace injury, etc.).
• Solid understanding of employment law and ability to translate regulations into practice.
• Proficient with HRIS and case‑management tools.
• Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends to cover a 7‑day, multi‑shift operation.
• Strong judgement, composure under pressure, proactive problem‑prevention mindset, clear communication, autonomous collaboration, growth orientation, and comfort with AI‑driven tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as first point of contact for employee relations, benefits queries, and daily HR support across all shifts.
- Conduct workplace investigations, coach managers through difficult conversations, and manage performance issues and terminations.
- Administer leave requests, family and disability claims, workplace injury processes, and accommodations from start to finish.
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, policies and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and update HRIS and case‑management systems.
- Collaborate with onsite Coordinator, Manager, supervisors and operations leadership to align HR initiatives with business objectives.
- Provide proactive HR insights and recommend preventive measures to reduce recurring issues.
- Serve as a visible, approachable HR presence on the floor, building trust and engagement.
- Leverage AI tools and technology to enhance HR processes and employee experience.
