Job Description: Job Title: Senior Software Engineer Role Summary: Lead the design, development, and delivery of high‑quality features for a fintech platform that empowers charities with secure, transparent cash‑raising solutions. Own end‑to‑end feature cycles, from concept through deployment, while shaping the system architecture and engineering best practices. Expactations: Deep proficiency in Node.js and React.js with a strong preference for backend expertise. Demonstrated experience driving a product from zero to one, including proving concepts, rapid iteration, and scalable deployments. Able to make architectural decisions and mentor junior team members. Comfortable working in a fast‑paced startup environment and passionately driving social impact through technology. Key Responsibilities: - Own full feature lifecycle: design, code, test, deploy, and iterate. - Collaborate with product and design teams to translate requirements into robust technical specifications. - Architect and refactor scalable, maintainable systems using Node.js and React.js. - Implement secure, efficient APIs and integrate third‑party services where appropriate. - Review code, enforce quality standards, and provide constructive feedback to peers. - Participate in on‑call rotation and provide post‑release support. - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives such as process automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure optimization. Required Skills: - 5+ years of professional software engineering experience. - Advanced knowledge of Node.js, Express, or comparable backend frameworks. - Proficiency in React.js, Redux, or similar frontend libraries. - Strong understanding of RESTful/GraphQL API design, security best practices, and database schema design. - Experience with unit, integration, and end‑to‑end testing frameworks. - Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). - Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience. - Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Developer) are a plus.
