Job Title: Junior Project Manager
Role Summary: Assist senior project and program managers in planning, coordinating, and executing activities for complex, mission‑driven federal programs within a remote PMO environment.
Expectations: Operate 100% remote from the continental US; manage multiple project workstreams, maintain up‑to‑date plans and documents, track milestones, risks, and action items, and communicate with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day‑to‑day project management across assigned projects or workstreams.
- Develop and update project plans, schedules, and task‑tracking artifacts (e.g., Gantt charts, Kanban boards).
- Monitor and report on project milestones, risks, issues, and action items.
- Draft and maintain project documentation, including status reports and meeting minutes.
- Coordinate project meetings, stand‑ups, reviews, and stakeholder communications.
- Assist with change management, dependency tracking, and requirement coordination.
- Ensure compliance with established project‑management processes and reporting standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of PM tools, templates, and processes.
Required Skills
- 1–3 years of experience supporting projects or operational initiatives.
- Proven knowledge of core project‑management concepts (scope, schedule, risks, dependencies).
- Proficiency with project tracking or collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, SharePoint, Confluence).
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication abilities.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with Microsoft Teams and Office.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage multiple priorities.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- CAPM certification or active coursework toward a project‑management certification.
- Exposure to Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies preferred.
- Experience supporting federal or government IT projects an advantage.
