**Job Title:** Risk Lawyer **Role Summary:** Provide proactive legal and regulatory support to a global law firm, assisting the Head of Risk in safeguarding international operations. Deliver counsel on risk management, data protection, supplier agreements, conflicts of interest, and regulatory changes while designing and delivering risk training. **Expectations:** - Minimum 2 years of qualified solicitor experience in a large law firm (internal risk function or commercial practice). - Strong knowledge of SRA Standards, UK GDPR, and the Bribery Act. - Ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate complex legal requirements into practical guidance. - Resilience and capacity to manage high‑volume risk queries and escalation matters. **Key Responsibilities:** - Advise practice groups and business services on legal and regulatory matters across the firm’s international network. - Develop, maintain, and update risk management policies, guidance notes, and procedures. - Review and negotiate supplier agreements, focusing on onboarding technology providers. - Manage data protection compliance, including subject access requests and breach response. - Advise on outside‑counsel terms and negotiate client amendments to Standard Terms of Business. - Act as escalation point for complex conflicts of interest and financial sanctions issues. - Design and deliver face‑to‑face and virtual risk training for partners and staff. - Monitor global regulatory developments and prepare the firm for significant legislative changes. - Support cross‑functional projects and handle day‑to‑day risk queries via team inbox. **Required Skills:** - Qualified solicitor with at least 2 years of relevant experience. - In‑depth understanding of SRA Standards, UK GDPR, Bribery Act, and related regulatory frameworks. - Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiation abilities. - Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills. - Ability to conduct training and present complex information clearly. - Proactive, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Law degree (LLB, JD, or equivalent). - Admission to the Solicitors’ Roll (or jurisdictional equivalent). - Professional indemnity insurance (if required). - Relevant certifications in data protection or compliance (e.g., CIPP/E) are advantageous but not mandatory.
