Job Title: Director of Information Technology
Role Summary: Lead and optimize the organization’s IT and biomedical systems, ensuring secure, reliable operation across clinical, administrative, and enterprise functions. Manage internal teams and external vendors, oversee cybersecurity posture, drive AI and emerging technology integration, and partner with executive leadership to align technology strategy with clinical and business goals.
Expectations:
- Deliver end-to-end IT/Biomed leadership, maintaining high system uptime and user satisfaction.
- Govern cybersecurity, privacy, and regulatory compliance (PHIPA, HIPAA, ISO 27001, etc.).
- Spearhead strategic planning for AI-enabled capabilities and long‑term technology roadmaps.
- Maintain fiscal responsibility through budgeting, procurement, and vendor performance management.
- Foster a customer‑centered support culture and continuous improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct high‑performing IT and biomedical technology teams, including staff and contractor oversight.
- Ensure secure, efficient operation of network, cloud, medical devices, telephony, and end‑user devices across all sites.
- Oversee core applications: EMR, PACS, HRIS, LMS, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, security monitoring, and partner interfaces.
- Manage biomedical contractor, ensuring calibration, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and equipment lifecycle planning.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability testing, incident response planning, and routine security audits; lead cybersecurity awareness initiatives.
- Collaborate with CTO and executive team to develop IT/Biomed/AI strategy, roadmaps, KPIs, and procurement plans.
- Translate user requirements into cost‑effective, scalable solutions and prioritize integrated project pipelines.
- Maintain IT/Biomed policies, SOPs, disaster recovery plans, asset inventories, and documentation.
- Develop and administer annual operating budget, track performance metrics, and implement corrective actions.
Required Skills:
- Leadership & team management (hiring, mentoring, performance management).
- Deep knowledge of healthcare IT systems (EMR, PACS, ERP, HRIS, EHR integration).
- Expertise in biomedical equipment lifecycle, calibration, and regulatory standards.
- Cybersecurity governance, incident response, vulnerability management, and compliance (PHIPA, HIPAA, ISO).
- Strategic planning, road‑mapping, KPI development, and business‑IT alignment.
- Vendor management, contract negotiation, and procurement processes.
- Budgeting, financial analysis, and cost optimization.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and cross‑functional collaboration.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 7 years progressive technical and managerial experience in healthcare IT or biomedical technology (hospital, outpatient, or corporate enterprise environments).
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent cybersecurity credentials highly desirable.
- Certified information system security professional or equivalent required if acting as CISO or Deputy CISO.
