**Job Title**: Lead Data Scientist
**Role Summary**: Senior leader responsible for end‑to‑end data science projects, delivering scalable data models, large‑language‑model (LLM) solutions, and cloud‑native deployments on AWS and Azure.
**Expectations**: 10+ years of progressive data science experience; proven track record in leading multidisciplinary teams and launching production ML systems.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Own the full data science life cycle: problem definition, data acquisition, feature engineering, model development, evaluation, and production deployment.
- Design and implement robust data models that support LLM‑based applications and traditional ML workflows.
- Architect cloud solutions on AWS and Azure, including data ingestion pipelines, storage, computing, and model serving infrastructures.
- Write and maintain SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists and engineers, fostering best practices in experimentation, version control, and reproducibility.
- Collaborate with data engineering, product, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Monitor model performance in production, conduct root‑cause analysis, and iterate to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Present findings to technical and non‑technical audiences, articulating insights, trade‑offs, and business impact.
**Required Skills**:
- Advanced data modeling (relational, dimensional, graph)
- Design and deployment of LLM solutions (LLM fine‑tuning, prompt engineering, serving)
- Proficiency in AWS (SageMaker, Redshift, Glue, Lambda) and Azure (ML, Synapse, Data Factory)
- Strong SQL proficiency for data manipulation and analysis
- Deep understanding of classical machine‑learning algorithms (regression, tree‑based, clustering, etc.)
- Experience with ML pipeline tooling (MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow)
- Knowledge of big‑data ecosystems (Spark, Hadoop) is advantageous
- Version control (Git), containerization (Docker), and CI/CD practices
**Required Education & Certifications**:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field
- Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty, Azure Data Scientist Associate, or equivalent are preferred.
