Job Description

Job Title: Automation Electrical Technician (Automation Engineer) Role Summary: Design, optimize, and ensure reliability of automated and electrotechnical systems for water treatment projects. Work under project or operations leadership to define automation architectures, implement PLC logic, and conduct comprehensive testing from development through factory and site acceptance. Expectations: • Deliver high‑quality PLC programs and electrical schematics that meet client requirements and industry standards. • Communicate progress and technical findings clearly to project stakeholders. • Provide training and support to plant operators and maintenance teams. • Maintain accurate documentation (DOE) and comply with administrative protocols. • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnostics, and warranty support on automation and electrotechnical equipment. Key Responsibilities: - Interpret client specifications and functional analyses. - Define and procure automation architecture and electrotechnical components. - Develop, review, and implement PLC input/output configurations. - Write and structure PLC programs in accordance with company standards. - Code functional analysis and generate technical notes. - Design or modify supervisory systems and control panels. - Perform in‑house platform tests, FAT at client sites, and QA/QC on equipment skid assemblies. - Verify control schematics and commission PLCs, instruments, VFDs, and rectifiers. - Run synchronization tests on client sites; parameterize instruments and drives. - Participate in commissioning with field personnel; fine‑tune process regulators. - Sign off test reports and submit progress updates. - Deliver operator training sessions. - Manage DOE documentation and provide warranty support. - Diagnose and troubleshoot automation or electrotechnical failures. - Execute preventive and corrective maintenance of automated and electrotechnical equipment. - Support operations and maintenance teams with technical assistance. - Adhere to required administrative obligations. Required Skills: - Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal, STEP7; Rockwell, Schenider). - In‑depth knowledge of electrotechnical systems and instrumentation. - Strong grasp of PID control principles and instrumentation setup. - Ability to read and interpret functional analyses and electrical schematics. - Advanced Excel skills; Windows operating environment. - Excellent verbal and written communication in French (native) and English at B2 level. - Organized, meticulous, dexterous, and teamwork oriented. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities; effective interpersonal skills. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree (Bac+3) in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field, or equivalent 2+ years of relevant experience. - Certifications in PLC programming or electrotechnical systems preferred.
