Job Description
**Job Title:** Sales Engineer – Security Products **Role Summary:** Technical pre‑sales specialist driving adoption of Netgear’s network security portfolio for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and Small‑to‑Medium Businesses (SMBs). Acts as trusted advisor, designs tailored solutions, delivers demos/PoCs, and supports implementation. Remote role with occasional travel to customer sites, events, or team meetings. **Expectations:** - Serve as the subject‑matter expert on Netgear security solutions throughout the sales cycle. - Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for customers and partners. - Build and maintain strong technical relationships with MSPs, SMBs, internal sales, product, and engineering teams. - Stay current on industry trends, emerging threats, and competitive offerings. **Key Responsibilities:** - Collaborate with sales teams to capture requirements and design custom security architectures. - Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and Proof‑of‑Concept sessions. - Guide customers through deployment of Next‑Generation Firewalls, Zero‑Trust Network Access, Secure Web Gateways, VPNs, and SD‑WAN. - Provide technical enablement, onboarding, and training for channel partners and VARs. - Deliver feedback to product and engineering on customer needs and market trends. - Represent the company at industry events, webinars, and forums. **Required Skills:** - 3+ years in sales engineering, solutions architecture, or systems engineering focused on network security. - Hands‑on experience implementing NGFW, ZTNA, SWG, VPN (WireGuard, IPsec, SSL), and SD‑WAN solutions. - Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and core network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, etc.). - Ability to articulate technical solutions in business terms to diverse stakeholders. - Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and collaboration skills. - Experience working with MSPs and/or SMB customers in a consultative pre‑sales capacity. - Familiarity with cloud‑based security platforms, SaaS delivery models, and automation/scripting (Python, Bash) is a plus. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Security, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. - Professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP Security, CompTIA Security+) are preferred but not mandatory. - Experience with regulatory frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2) is advantageous.
