**Job Title:** ServiceNow Service Portal Expert
**Role Summary:**
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex ServiceNow Service Portal and Workspace solutions for government missions. Drive architectural decisions, create custom widgets, integrate XML data feeds, and ensure platform scalability, performance, and compliance while mentoring team members and supporting proposal efforts.
**Expectations:**
- 8 + years of hands‑on ServiceNow development and architecture experience.
- Proven expertise in Service Portal, custom widgets, and Workspace configuration.
- Strong JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML, CSS, and XML integration skills.
- Deep understanding of ITSM processes, ITIL framework, and cloud‑based architectural principles.
- Ability to produce effort estimates, technical documentation, and lead code reviews.
- Excellent communication for cross‑functional collaboration.
- US citizenship; active Secret clearance (or ability to obtain).
- Active ServiceNow Certified System Administrator credential.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Architect scalable ServiceNow solutions and lead technical implementations.
- Design, develop, and maintain custom Service Portal pages, themes, branding, and widgets.
- Configure and optimize ServiceNow Workspaces, layouts, and data visualizations.
- Build XML data ingestion and egress mechanisms; integrate via REST, SOAP, Scripted REST, and IntegrationHub.
- Serve as technical advisor, resolve issues, enforce best practices, and ensure ITIL, security, and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with business/IT stakeholders to gather requirements, create roadmaps, and conduct workshops.
- Manage CMDB and guide ITOM tool architecture.
- Produce technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and process flows.
- Mentor junior staff, lead code reviews, and support production stability.
- Contribute to proposals, cost/effort estimates, white papers, and contract artifacts.
- Lead continuous improvement activities, post‑mortems, and process reviews.
**Required Skills:**
- ServiceNow platform architecture and development (core modules).
- Service Portal and custom widget development (AngularJS, JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
- ServiceNow Workspace configuration and optimization.
- XML data processing, REST/SOAP API integration, IntegrationHub.
- ITSM/ITIL knowledge and application.
- Agile software testing lifecycle (smoke, integration, production).
- Estimation and deployment planning for ServiceNow functionality.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and debugging abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Organizational and time‑management skills in fast‑paced environments.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Technical degree, training, or equivalent experience in software engineering or related field.
- Active **ServiceNow Certified System Administrator** certification (additional ServiceNow certifications preferred).
