Job Title: Technical Business Analyst (Data Catalog)
Role Summary: Act as liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to design, implement, and maintain a governed data catalog for healthcare insurance data, ensuring accurate metadata, lineage, and governance compliance.
Expactations:
- Minimum 10+ years IT experience, specifically as a Technical Analyst in healthcare insurance.
- Deep familiarity with insurance data domains: Claims, Member, Provider, Enrollment, Billing/Finance.
- Proven experience with data catalog tools (Collibra, Alation, Informatica EDC, AWS Glue Data Catalog, etc.).
- Hands‑on knowledge of cloud data platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong foundation in data governance, metadata management, and data lineage concepts.
- SQL proficiency and basic data analysis skills preferred.
- Ability to translate business requirements into clear technical metadata and catalog structures.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Partner with business and data teams to capture healthcare insurance data requirements.
2. Translate business definitions, rules, and processes into technical metadata and catalog entries.
3. Build, update, and maintain catalog assets: business glossary, datasets, lineage, classifications, tags.
4. Support implementation of data governance policies, data quality rules, and stewardship workflows.
5. Collaborate with data engineering, architecture, and governance teams to ensure metadata ingestion standards.
6. Conduct gap analysis, identify missing attributes, and drive catalog completeness improvements.
7. Facilitate stakeholder workshops to align terminology, ownership, and governance expectations.
8. Provide user guidance on data discovery and efficient catalog navigation.
Required Skills:
- Data catalog tool expertise (Collibra, Alation, Informatica EDC, AWS Glue Data Catalog).
- Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data lineage knowledge.
- SQL and data analysis capability.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Relevant certifications in data governance or data cataloging (e.g., Collibra Certified Professional) are a plus.
