**Job Title**
Data Engineer – Data Modelling (F/M)
**Role Summary**
Responsible for designing, building, and maintaining decision‑making data platforms, including data warehouses, data marts, and dashboards. Acts as the technical liaison for end‑users and publishers of BI tools, ensuring high‑quality data delivery, governance, and integration across multiple analytics environments (Power BI, Cognos, Superset). Works on migration projects and agile development cycles, delivering robust, optimized data solutions for banking domain requirements.
**Expectations**
- Deliver fully functional data models and BI reports that meet business needs.
- Lead technical aspects of decision‑making projects and support end‑user adoption.
- Ensure data quality, security, and governance compliance.
- Contribute to project planning, estimation, and agile ceremonies.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and implement data marts, schemas, and ETL pipelines (SSRS, Talend → Dagster).
- Develop complex Power BI reports and dashboards; serve as the technical point of contact for Power BI publishers.
- Migrate reporting from Cognos/Power BI to Apache Superset and re‑engineer ETL flows.
- Optimize SQL queries, indexing, and performance tuning for Vertica, SQL Server, and S3 buckets.
- Produce DAX, RLS logic, and maintain Power BI datasets.
- Collaborate with security, networking, and data governance teams to maintain metadata catalogs and data quality standards.
- Facilitate requirement workshops, translate business needs into technical solutions, and conduct user training.
- Participate in agile ceremonies (Kanban/Scrum) and deliver iterative, testable increments.
**Required Skills**
- SQL (advanced querying, indexing, optimization) – 4+ years.
- Power BI Desktop & Report Server, DAX, RLS – 2+ years.
- Data modelling and data mart creation – 4+ years.
- Apache Superset – 1+ year (preferred).
- Cognos C11 report design – 1+ year.
- Python development – 2+ years.
- ETL experience (SSRS, Talend) and familiarity with Dagster.
- Basic Java knowledge.
- Strong analytical, written communication, and workshop facilitation abilities.
- Experience in Kanban/Scrum agile environments.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, IBM Data Architect, or equivalent) are advantageous but not mandatory.
