Job title: Senior Load Balancer Engineer
Role Summary:
Design, implement, and govern enterprise‑scale load balancing and traffic management across on‑premises, edge, and multi‑cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Lead modernization of application delivery controllers (ADCs), global traffic management, and automation, while driving security, compliance, and incident response initiatives. Serve as a strategic advisor to architects, DevOps, and cybersecurity teams, delivering integrated solutions aligned with business goals.
Expectations:
- Architect L4–L7 load balancing solutions and global traffic routing for mission‑critical workloads.
- Develop and execute roadmaps for ADC modernization, cloud migration, and container‑native delivery.
- Activate rapid response teams for global incidents, codify playbooks, and translate lessons into standards.
- Define and enforce policy‑as‑code governance, observability, and security controls.
- Own end‑to‑end delivery models, including HLD/LLD, BOM, QA, and IaC automation.
- Communicate technical strategy and outcomes to executive stakeholders and governance bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
**Architecture & Strategy** – Design L4–L7 load balancing frameworks, evaluate ADC platforms (F5 BIG‑IP, NGINX, Citrix NetScaler, AVI Networks), develop modernization roadmaps, and produce reference architectures.
**Incident & Governance** – Rapid incident response, playbook development, policy‑as‑code implementation, gap analysis, and governance modeling.
**Engineering & Optimization** – Configure SSL offloading, content switching, health monitoring, GTM/DNS failover, performance tuning, and traffic steering.
**Automation & Integration** – Build IaC pipelines (Ansible, Terraform, Python), integrate ADC with CI/CD, Kubernetes, Istio service mesh, and automate certificate, policy, and telemetry management.
**Security & Compliance** – Enforce WAF and DDoS defenses, secure TLS, ensure PCI‑DSS, HIPAA, SOX compliance, conduct audits, and vulnerability assessments.
**Cross‑Functional Leadership** – Collaborate with architects, product owners, and DevOps to align infrastructure with business objectives; present technical plans to executive teams.
Required Skills:
- Deep knowledge of L4–L7 protocols, HTTP/S, TCP, SSL/TLS.
- Hands‑on proficiency with ADCs (F5 BIG‑IP, NGINX, Citrix NetScaler, AVI).
- Experience designing for AWS, Azure, and GCP multi‑cloud environments.
- Expertise in IaC tools: Ansible, Terraform, Python scripting.
- Experience with Kubernetes, service meshes (Istio), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong security mindset: WAF, TLS, DDoS, policy-as-code, and compliance (PCI‑DSS, HIPAA, SOX).
- Leadership in cross‑functional teams, agile/lean delivery, and incident response.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and documentation skills.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant certifications preferred: F5 Certified Administrator / Developer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent ADC authority.
- Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
