**Job Title:** Manufacturing Test Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, develop, and maintain PLC‑based automation and test systems for manufacturing environments. Lead troubleshooting, documentation, and continuous improvement of control panels and LabVIEW applications, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
**Expectations:**
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience in manufacturing automation or production test engineering.
- Proven ability to program PLCs/HMIs, develop LabVIEW test systems, and create electrical schematics.
- Strong analytical and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Program, test, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and related automation hardware.
- Design, build, and support electrical control panels (up to 480 VAC).
- Develop and maintain LabVIEW applications for automated test operations and data collection.
- Create and update electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA 70, NFPA 79, and other applicable electrical codes.
- Version‑control automation and test software (e.g., Git).
- Support installation, commissioning, and testing of control systems, including integration with mechanical components (sensors, pumps, valves).
- Provide technical support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Field Service.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues across sensors, instrumentation, and field devices.
- Manage basic industrial network communications (TCP/IP over Ethernet).
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance test system reliability and throughput.
**Required Skills:**
- PLC and HMI programming (structured text, ladder logic).
- LabVIEW development for automated testing.
- AutoCAD Electrical schematic design.
- Electrical control panel design and troubleshooting (single/three‑phase up to 480 VAC).
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 79 safety standards.
- Version control (Git) proficiency.
- Strong problem‑solving across sensors, instrumentation, analog/digital signals, and electro‑mechanical systems.
- Excellent written and verbal technical communication.
- Ability to travel up to 25 %.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- U.S. citizenship or eligibility to obtain DOD security clearance.
- (Preferred) Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering.
- (Preferred) Advanced LabVIEW and automation experience (≥6 years).
- (Preferred) Familiarity with SCADA, motion control, robotics, or advanced sequencing systems.
