**Job Title**
DevOps Backend Engineer
**Role Summary**
Design, develop, and operate scalable Java backend services in a cloud‑native, DevOps‑centric environment. Lead end‑to‑end delivery from architecture and coding to CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and reliability, ensuring high performance, security, and operational excellence.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 2 years of professional Java backend development experience.
- Master’s or engineering degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
- Strong DevOps mindset: CI/CD pipeline design, GitOps practices, cloud‑native deployments.
- Proactive, curious, and adept at learning new tools and technologies.
- Ability to work on-site three days a week, collaborating in a fast‑paced global team.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Build and maintain Java microservices that support high‑traffic, mission‑critical workloads.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure (IaC).
- Manage deployment pipelines using GitOps principles; automate releases to Kubernetes clusters.
- Implement observability, alerting, and reliability practices to ensure service uptime and performance.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (architecture, security, QA) to deliver quality features.
**Required Skills**
- Java (Spring Boot or similar frameworks).
- CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
- GitOps workflows and source‑control integration.
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and IaC (Terraform, Pulumi).
- Kubernetes administration, Helm chart creation, and container orchestration.
- Monitoring/observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
- Security best practices for backend services.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- MSc or Engineering School degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are a plus but not mandatory.
