Job Description

**Job Title** Software Engineer Intern (Summer 2026) **Role Summary** Internships in enterprise AI and document intelligence within a SaaS platform focused on environmental, financial, and compliance workflows. The role involves building scalable, AI‑driven pipelines that transform unstructured documents into validated, auditable data; developing predictive models for obligation costing; and enhancing platform UI and natural‑language interfaces. **Expectations** * Contribute to two‑week agile sprints, delivering code, tests, and documentation. * Demonstrate the ability to learn and adopt modern tooling (Java/Spring, Python, React, Docker, CI/CD). * Produce clean, production‑ready code under mentorship. * Communicate progress with cross‑functional teams and be proactive in problem identification. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Build and refine AI‑powered document processing pipelines (OCR, data extraction, validation). 2. Develop automated data capture and exception‑detection mechanisms for invoices, POs, and proposals. 3. Assist in predictive estimation models for Asset Retirement Obligations and Environmental Remediation Obligations. 4. Support natural‑language query features with evidence‑traceable outputs. 5. Enhance the Document Management System UI for usability and performance. 6. Write unit/integration tests, participate in code reviews, and adhere to CI/CD workflows. 7. Collaborate with product, implementation, and senior engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable solutions. **Required Skills** * Proficiency in Python (data pipelines, ML/NLP libraries). * Knowledge of Java and Spring Boot for back‑end services. * Experience with React and front‑end development. * Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, GitLab workflows. * Understanding of OCR, document intelligence concepts, and AI model deployment. * Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. * Excellent written and verbal communication. **Required Education & Certifications** * Current enrollment or recent graduation in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field. * Exposure to Agile development practices and modern development tools. * Optional certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or AI/ML coursework.
