Job Title: Lead DevOps Architect (AWS & LaunchDarkly SME)
Role Summary: Senior architect responsible for designing, implementing, and operating enterprise‑grade feature‑flag solutions using LaunchDarkly and AWS. Leads a small engineering team, owns delivery, and drives best practices across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and feature‑flag governance.
Expectations: • 10+ years total software/platform engineering experience. • Minimum 2 years recent hands‑on AWS DevOps. • Proven track record implementing LaunchDarkly in complex, enterprise environments. • Ability to lead teams while remaining an active contributor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as LaunchDarkly SME: define architecture, feature‑flag strategy, environment access, governance, security, and audit controls.
- Design and integrate LaunchDarkly with Brave templates and CI/CD pipelines.
- Define scalable, secure, resilient AWS DevOps architecture (EC2, EKS/ECS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, S3).
- Build and configure AWS infrastructure via IaC (Terraform or CloudFormation).
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab).
- Configure LaunchDarkly SDKs, manage feature‑flag lifecycle, rollout strategies, and governance.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues across DevOps and feature‑management layers.
- Own end‑to‑end delivery: plan, estimate, execute, and ensure quality and predictability.
- Lead, mentor, and collaborate with engineers; maintain high coding standards.
- Communicate technical concepts to stakeholders; participate in architecture reviews and executive discussions.
Required Skills:
- AWS services: EC2, EKS/ECS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, S3.
- IaC: Terraform, CloudFormation.
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab.
- Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes.
- LaunchDarkly: feature‑flag lifecycle, SDK integration, governance, rollout strategies.
- Security, compliance, and enterprise‑scale DevOps practices.
- Strong verbal/written communication, stakeholder influence, ownership mindset.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional and/or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional (preferred).
- LaunchDarkly Certified Engineer (preferred).
