**Job Title:** FullStack Backend Developer
**Role Summary:**
Design, implement, and maintain distributed back‑end solutions using Spark with Scala, Java, and cloud platforms (Azure, Databricks). Build data pipelines and services that interact with enterprise databases (DB2, Teradata, Snowflake) and deliver scalable, high‑performance applications for global teams.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver features on strict deadlines while ensuring code quality.
- Collaborate effectively with remote data engineers, analysts, and DevOps across time zones.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly in written and verbal formats.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Architect and develop Spark applications in Scala, extending existing pipelines or creating new ones.
- Build RESTful microservices with Java/Scala, integrating with Azure services and Databricks workspaces.
- Write efficient SQL queries for DB2, Teradata, Snowflake and optimize data ingestion workflows.
- Implement secure, fault‑tolerant distributed data processing architectures.
- Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Document design decisions, API contracts, and deployment procedures.
- Stay updated on emerging cloud, big‑data, and distributed computing trends.
**Required Skills:**
- 4–8 years of distributed application development.
- Deep expertise in Spark, Scala, Java.
- Hands‑on experience with Azure, Databricks, and cloud‑based data services.
- Advanced SQL on DB2, Teradata, Snowflake.
- Proficiency in Python (preferred).
- Optional: Power BI, Angular (plus).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant certifications are a plus: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Databricks Certified Data Engineer, Spark Programming.
