Job Description: **Job Title** Director, Internal Audit **Role Summary** Lead and oversee internal audit functions across a large, complex Canadian financial services portfolio on a 6‑month contract. Partner with senior leadership to assess risk, conduct audits, strengthen governance, and ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards. **Expectations** - Deliver high‑quality, risk‑based audit engagements within tight deadlines. - Provide actionable insights and practical recommendations to senior management. - Drive audit team performance and maintain strong stakeholder relationships. - Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of audit standards, risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements. **Key Responsibilities** - Plan, lead, and execute end‑to‑end audit engagements in accordance with professional standards. - Assess effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks. - Partner with senior stakeholders to develop risk‑based insights and recommendations. - Review audit findings, validate management action plans, and monitor remediation progress. - Support regulatory and compliance audits as needed. - Coach and guide audit team members to enhance performance and collaboration. - Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations for senior management and audit committees. **Required Skills** - Strong knowledge of audit standards and risk assessment methodologies. - Proficiency in control frameworks such as COSO and COBIT. - Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder‑management skills. - Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment. - Leadership and coaching ability for audit teams. **Required Education & Certifications** - CPA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent professional designation strongly preferred. - 5–7+ years of experience in internal audit, risk management, or assurance within a large organization. - Prior senior manager or director level experience in a complex, matrixed setting.
