**Job Title:** DevOps Engineer (Terraform)
**Role Summary:**
Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure using Terraform (HCL) and integrate with Ansible for configuration management. Work with development, operations, and security teams to automate provisioning, enforce compliance, and support Department of the Navy initiatives.
**Expectations:**
- Hold an active TS/SCI clearance and current DoD 8570.1‑M IAT Level III certification.
- 5–8+ years of experience (BS/BA), 3–5+ years (MS/MA), or 0–2+ years (PhD) in software engineering and COTS integration.
- Deliver reliable IaC solutions, perform security testing, and maintain documentation.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design and implement cloud infrastructure using Terraform and HCL.
- Automate provisioning, scaling, and lifecycle management of compute, storage, and networking resources.
- Integrate Terraform with Ansible for post‑provisioning configuration, application deployment, and hardening.
- Collaborate with dev, ops, and security teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and cloud initiatives.
- Monitor environments, conduct regular maintenance, and troubleshoot incidents.
- Enforce cloud security, compliance, and risk‑management best practices.
- Perform security code reviews, vulnerability assessments, and remediation.
- Produce and maintain architectural diagrams, technical documentation, and runbooks.
- Stay current on emerging tools, technologies, and industry standards; advise teams on secure coding and IaC practices.
**Required Skills:**
- Terraform (HCL) – infrastructure design, module development, state management.
- Ansible – playbook creation, configuration management, secret handling.
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid/on‑prem environments.
- CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Scripting languages (Python, Bash/PowerShell).
- Networking, storage, and compute concepts.
- Security frameworks (NIST, DoD RMF), vulnerability scanning, and hardening techniques.
- Strong collaboration and communication across multidisciplinary teams.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (5–8+ yrs experience) **or** Master’s degree (3–5+ yrs) **or** PhD (0–2+ yrs).
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- DoD 8570.1‑M IAT Level III certification (current).
