Azure DevOps Engineer
**Role Summary**
Senior‑level DevOps engineer responsible for the end‑to‑end lifecycle of Azure cloud solutions, including design, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement. Provides technical leadership, mentors developers, and establishes industry‑standard practices for CI/CD and cloud operations across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.

- Lead cross‑functional initiatives and maintain alignment with state IT standards.
- Provide measurable performance reports to stakeholders and recommend enhancements.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Technical Leadership**
- Direct technical leads to implement and maintain cloud‑based systems in Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Guide multiple simultaneous projects, ensuring adherence to architecture and security standards.
- Mentor developers on best practices for SDLC, CI/CD, and cloud operations.
- **Architectural Strategy**
- Develop and document cloud architectural standards and roadmaps.
- Conduct gap analysis between current state and desired future state architectures.
- Collaborate with IT groups to recommend and implement architecture solutions.
- **Process & Tooling**
- Introduce and govern processes, tools, and methodologies to balance development and operational needs.
- Define development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps activities.
- Implement continuous improvement procedures and automation frameworks.
- **Reporting & Communication**
- Prepare periodic performance and improvement reports for management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with other IT groups and state entities during strategic development phases.
**Required Skills**
- **Cloud Platforms**: Azure, AWS, GCP – PaaS, SaaS, IaaS services.
- **Infrastructure & OS**: Linux/UNIX, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Rackspace.
- **Databases**: SQL (PostgreSQL, other relational), NoSQL data stores.
- **Scripting/Programming**: PowerShell, Python, Perl.
- **CI/CD & Automation**: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipeline design.
- **Configuration Management**: Declarative languages (YAML, JSON).
- **Architectural Frameworks**: TOGAF, SOA.
- **Methodologies**: Agile Scrum, SCRUM ceremonies.
- **API & Web Services**: Design, integration, and management.
- **Performance Monitoring**: Log Analytics, Application Insights, Azure Monitor.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Cloud certifications:
- Amazon Web Services Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Architect Design.
- Additional relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Certified ScrumMaster) are desirable.
