**Job Title:**
Fall 2026 – Student Opportunities in Human Resources (Bilingual)
**Role Summary:**
Temporary student role supporting the Human Resources Group of a federal intelligence agency. The position rotates across staffing & recruitment, classification, learning & development, labour relations, and HR information systems (PeopleSoft). Provides research, analysis, advisory, and administrative assistance while gaining exposure to HR policies, equity‑focused practices, and secure government environments.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver accurate HR advice and guidance to managers in line with fairness, equity, and transparency principles.
- Conduct research, data analysis, and reporting for HR projects and policy issues.
- Develop or update HR tools, training materials, and procedural documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality and meet security clearance requirements (Enhanced Reliability Status or Enhanced Top Secret).
- Demonstrate proactive learning, teamwork, and effective communication with internal clients and partners.
**Key Responsibilities:**
*Staffing & Recruitment* – Support hiring managers, identify staffing needs, propose innovative recruitment methods, and help develop efficient HR service tools.
*Classification* – Provide classification advice, draft model job descriptions, analyze policy issues, maintain statistics, and assist with training delivery.
*Learning & Development* – Help plan and coordinate learning programs, conduct research on career development, and prepare related documentation.
*Labour Relations & Negotiations* – Offer basic guidance on collective agreement interpretation, research labour‑relations matters, and provide administrative support for exclusion, leave‑without‑pay, and essential‑services processes.
*HR Information Systems (HRIS)* – Work with Oracle PeopleSoft HRMS, support system maintenance, and assist with the upcoming migration to a newer PeopleSoft version.
**Required Skills:**
- Strong analytical and research abilities; comfortable handling quantitative and qualitative data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present findings and draft clear documentation.
- Basic understanding of HR concepts (recruitment, classification, labour relations, learning).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn PeopleSoft.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to manage confidential information.
- Team player with initiative and adaptability in a fast‑changing environment.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary program (undergraduate or graduate) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Labour Studies, or a related field.
- Must be a Canadian citizen.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Reliability Status (ERS) or Enhanced Top Secret (ETS) security clearance prior to hire.
