**Job Title**
Senior ML/Research Engineer
**Role Summary**
Design, develop, and deploy cutting‑edge machine‑learning models for complex biological and chemical data. Integrate multimodal datasets (histology, spatial transcriptomics, clinical variables, molecular structures) into production systems. Bridge research and engineering to power real‑time AI tools that enable biomedical hypothesis generation and data analysis.
**Expectations**
- Deliver high‑impact, production‑ready ML solutions for life‑sciences research.
- Maintain rigorous evaluation, monitoring, and interpretability standards.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, software engineers, and biomedical scientists.
- Mentor junior teammates and influence the technical vision.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Research, prototype, and train models (transformers, diffusion, vision, graph neural nets, DNA/protein language models, molecular structure networks).
- Fine‑tune and evaluate large language models, implement prompt engineering, retrieval‑augmented generation, and RLHF.
- Design evaluation pipelines, performance monitoring, and interpretability frameworks for production deployments.
- Translate academic advances into scalable, maintainable software solutions.
- Collaborate with DevOps to containerize and deploy models on Kubernetes/AWS.
- Communicate results and trade‑offs with cross‑functional teams.
**Required Skills**
- 3+ years of ML research/development (academic or industry).
- Expertise in deep‑learning architectures (transformers, diffusion, vision, GNNs).
- Experience with large multimodal biomedical or chemistry datasets.
- Proficiency in Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, Hugging Face ecosystem.
- Familiarity with LLM fine‑tuning, evaluation, RLHF.
- Strong programming, debugging, and documentation skills.
- Proven ability to move models from prototype to production (Kubernetes, AWS).
- Excellent written and spoken English.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Bioinformatics, or related field.
- Relevant certifications in cloud platforms (AWS), ML frameworks, or data science are a plus.
