Job Description
**Job Title** Payroll Specialist, North America **Role Summary** Execute accurate, compliant payroll for multiple U.S. and Canadian entities within a shared‑services environment. Maintain data integrity, reconcile results, support finance reporting, and drive process improvement, including transition to Oracle Fusion ERP and ADP integration. **Expectations** - Deliver payroll runs on schedule for assigned entities. - Ensure compliance with statutory deductions and company policies. - Maintain strict confidentiality and internal controls. - Provide professional support to employees on payroll matters. - Contribute to continuous improvement and system enhancements. **Key Responsibilities** - Process payroll runs for U.S. and Canadian entities. - Enter, audit, and maintain employee records, timesheets, and pay adjustments. - Reconcile payroll data, resolve discrepancies, and validate accuracy. - Prepare payroll journal entries, reports for Finance, audit, and month‑end close. - Run weekly validation reports and perform data accuracy checks. - Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection standards. - Respond to employee payroll inquiries professionally. - Produce year‑end reporting, tax slips, and related filings. - Collaborate with Payroll team for consistency and alignment. - Cross‑train on payroll processes for coverage. - Support Payroll Manager with reconciliations, ad‑hoc reporting, audits, and process improvement. - Coordinate with departments on system updates, testing, and enhancements. - Participate in Oracle Fusion ERP transition and payroll‑ADP integration. **Required Skills** - 3–5 years of payroll processing experience in multi‑entity/multi‑company environments. - End‑to‑end U.S. and Canadian payroll expertise. - Deep knowledge of statutory deductions (CRA, RQ, IRS, state agencies). - Strong reconciliation and investigation skills. - Ability to prepare payroll journal entries for Finance month‑end. - Excellent attention to detail, control mindset, confidentiality. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reconciliation and validation. - Effective communication for responding to employee inquiries. - Experience in shared‑services or centralized payroll models. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field. - PCP (Payroll Compliance Professional) designation completed or in progress (preferred). - Familiarity with Oracle Fusion, Dayforce, ADP, or integrated HCM/payroll environments.
