Job Title: Battery Thermal Engineer Role Summary: Drive thermal modeling and simulation for battery systems (cell, pack, BMS). Execute and enhance finite‑element models, convert power maps to thermal outputs, and validate results with lab testing. Collaborate with product design and system teams to integrate thermal considerations early in the development cycle. Expectations: * Deliver high‑quality thermal models and simulations for new and existing battery products. * Translate simulation insights into actionable design guidance and process improvements. * Maintain and expand simulation workflows, templates, and best practices. * Communicate complex thermal concepts to multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities: - Develop state‑of‑the‑art thermal and multi‑physics FE models for battery cells, packs, and BMS subsystems. - Convert power distribution data into thermal outputs using advanced simulation tools. - Perform transient and steady‑state thermal simulations, evaluating boundary conditions and heat transfer mechanisms. - Collaborate with test and reliability labs to design physical tests and validate simulation results. - Work with system and assembly teams to create detailed sub‑models for assembly‑level simulations. - Create and maintain reusable templates, automated workflows, and documentation for thermal analyses. - Lead technical initiatives, define project roadmaps, and mentor team members.
