**Job Title:** Environments Manager
**Role Summary:**
Lead the strategy, governance, and optimisation of complex technology environments for a large-scale organisation. Drive automation, tooling, and process improvement while ensuring environments are stable, reliable, and cost‑efficient. Collaborate with platform owners, engineering teams, and stakeholders to support continuous integration, testing, and delivery at scale. Manage a small team of associate environment managers and contribute to architectural and strategic discussions.
**Expectations:**
- Own end‑to‑end environment lifecycle, from design and provisioning to decommissioning.
- Deliver measurable improvements in automation, governance, and cost efficiency.
- Act as a trusted advisor across delivery, engineering, and business teams.
- Mentor and develop junior environment managers.
- Balance strategic planning with hands‑on execution.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Define and implement environment strategy, governance, and optimisation frameworks.
2. Design, provision, and manage complex environments across integrated systems (e.g., cloud, ERP, SAP).
3. Drive automation and tooling initiatives to streamline provisioning, data refreshes, and CI/CD pipelines.
4. Oversee system integrations, maintain architectural diagrams, and ensure alignment with delivery models.
5. Collaborate with platform owners, engineering teams, and stakeholders to align environment capabilities with business needs.
6. Manage a team of associate environment managers, providing mentorship and performance guidance.
7. Contribute to strategic and architectural discussions, influencing solutions at scale.
8. Monitor environment performance, conduct audits, and enforce compliance with governance policies.
**Required Skills:**
- Proven experience managing complex technology environments in enterprise or large‑scale organisations.
- Deep understanding of Agile, DevOps, and Waterfall delivery models.
- Hands‑on cloud provisioning expertise, with Azure preferred.
- Familiarity with SAP, ERP, or other integrated enterprise systems.
- Strong stakeholder management, mentoring, and communication abilities.
- Ability to balance strategic vision with practical, results‑driven delivery.
- Expertise in process improvement, environment governance, and automation.
- Knowledge of system integrations, architectural diagrams, and CI/CD pipelines.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure, SAP, ITIL, Cloud Architecture) preferred.
