Job title: Project Manager – Data Centre Infrastructure
Role Summary: Lead end‑to‑end project delivery for structured cabling and data centre infrastructure initiatives in mission‑critical environments. Manage project governance, risk, change, and commercial aspects while ensuring safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
Expectations:
- Deliver projects on agreed time, cost, and quality targets.
- Maintain full project governance, including planning, risk management, change control, and reporting.
- Drive commercial accountability: scope management, variation orders, and budgeting.
- Support bids, pricing, and technical assessment for new opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with H&S, CDM, and statutory regulations.
- Foster strong professional stakeholder relationships and lead project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, execute, and close structured cabling and data centre projects.
2. Develop and maintain project plans, risk registers, change logs, and status reports.
3. Allocate and manage resources, monitor performance, and take corrective actions.
4. Manage scope, variations, and contractual obligations with suppliers and contractors.
5. Oversee safety compliance, carry out H&S risk assessments, and secure necessary approvals.
6. Provide regular updates to senior stakeholders and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
7. Contribute to business development activities, including bidding and proposal preparation.
8. Conduct post‑project reviews and capture lessons learned.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience in data centre or structured cabling environments.
- Profound knowledge of data centre infrastructure best practices and operational procedures.
- Strong command of project governance frameworks (initiation, planning, risk, change control).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, scope, and commercial aspects of projects.
- Proactive, pragmatic, and delivery‑focused mindset.
- Familiarity with network/Wi‑Fi transformation programmes is desirable.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Prince2 Practitioner or equivalent project management qualification.
- SMSTS or similar health & safety qualification (ECS card desirable).
- SC clearance considered an advantage.
