**Job Title:** Generation Control Engineer III
**Role Summary:**
Responsible for safe, reliable operation and maintenance of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) supporting power generation, battery storage, and water & gas systems. Designs, develops, and implements system upgrades, resolves incidents, and recommends improvements to enhance plant performance. Leads projects, coordinates with full‑time and contract staff, and ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and cybersecurity standards.

- Deliver high‑quality engineering solutions within budget and schedule.
- Demonstrate proactive problem‑solving and continuous improvement in control systems.
- Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams and provide technical training.
- Maintain integrity in handling sensitive data and adhere to regulatory requirements.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct sophisticated DCS maintenance, including logic changes, patching, programming, device management, configuration, and integration.
- Resolve minor and complex incidents related to control system hardware and software.
- Provide recommendations for system enhancements that improve operational efficiency.
- Plan, design, execute, test, and deploy control system technologies for the Generation portfolio.
- Lead and coordinate work with staff and contractors on new technical strategies.
- Perform life‑cycle and risk assessments, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure safety & reliability.
- Support audits, inspections, and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Maintain engineering design basis documentation and control.
- Deliver technical guidance to junior engineers and oversee project studies.
**Required Skills:**
- Strong knowledge of DCS platforms (e.g., Ovation DCS, GE Mark, Woodward, Rockwell).
- Control, electrical, power system, or power‑plant engineering expertise.
- Experience with gas/steam turbines and aero‑derivative turbines.
- Proficiency in programming, device configuration, and system integration.
- Communication, teamwork, presentation, and meeting management abilities.
- Ability to plan and budget departmental activities.
- Resilience, initiative, and flexibility, including willingness to travel.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related scientific/technical/math field.
- Minimum five years of engineering experience in operations, production, construction, or maintenance.
- Valid Class C driver’s license.
