Job Description
Job Title: Data Scientist Associate Role Summary: Apply machine learning, statistical analysis, and NLP to cardiovascular registry data to generate actionable insights and support research goals. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, build dashboards, and integrate external data sources, ensuring data quality and regulatory compliance. Expectations: Deliver reliable, reproducible data‑science solutions; translate complex findings into clear, non‑technical communication; maintain strong documentation and coding standards; support real‑world evidence initiatives and NCDR strategic priorities. Key Responsibilities - Develop ML models, statistical analyses, and NLP workflows to inform clinical decision‑making. - Conduct exploratory data analysis on large clinical registry datasets to uncover patterns and support product improvement. - Integrate external sources (claims, PROs, other registries) to enhance analytic depth. - Build dashboards and visualizations (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) to communicate insights to stakeholders. - Work with IT and clinical teams to operationalize data‑science workflows and ensure alignment across programs. - Document code, models, and analytic procedures following established standards. - Adhere to privacy, security, and regulatory requirements; complete mandatory data‑protection training. Required Skills - Proficiency in Python or R for data science and programming. - SQL expertise for data querying and manipulation. - Understanding of machine‑learning concepts, statistical modeling, and unstructured data handling. - Experience with NLP techniques and tools. - Strong data‑visualization skills (Power BI, Tableau, ggplot, or plotly). - Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical results to non‑technical audiences. - Familiarity with Microsoft Office; knowledge of Access, Visio, or SharePoint is a plus. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Public Health, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - Relevant certifications (e.g., Python, SQL, data‑science, or ML certifications) are a bonus but not required.
