Job title: Senior DevOps Engineer
Role Summary:
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise‑scale Jira SaaS configurations, integrations, and migration strategies to support Agile delivery pipelines, ensuring alignment with security, compliance, and performance requirements.
Expectations:
- Deliver end‑to‑end Jira configuration, integration, and migration solutions that drive operational efficiency and data traceability.
- Mentor cross‑functional teams on best‑practice tool usage, fostering Agile culture and continuous improvement.
- Provide reliable, scalable integrations with GitLab, ServiceNow, and other systems using APIs, webhooks, and middleware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and optimize Jira SaaS for project management, Agile delivery, and compliance.
- Design custom workflows, issue types, screens, fields, and automation rules per organizational Agile frameworks.
- Manage user permissions, groups, roles, and security schemes.
- Monitor license utilization, usage trends, and report on subscription efficiency.
- Lead seamless integrations with GitLab, ServiceNow, Okta, and other enterprise platforms via REST APIs, webhooks, middleware, and scripting.
- Automate data synchronization across platforms to support traceability from planning to release.
- Troubleshoot and optimize integration pipelines for performance, security, and scalability.
- Partner with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and Agile Transformation teams to align integrations with enterprise security standards.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, configuration standards, and best‑practice guides.
- Support transition of teams from Azure DevOps Boards, GitLab, and hosted Jira to Jira SaaS.
- Enable reporting and analytics initiatives, ensuring reliable Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, cycle time).
Required Skills:
- 5+ years in full‑cycle software development and 3+ years administering/engineering Jira (SaaS or self‑hosted).
- Proven experience designing and implementing custom integrations with GitLab and ServiceNow.
- Strong scripting proficiency (Python, PowerShell, JavaScript).
- Deep understanding of Agile (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and DevSecOps principles.
- Expertise in Jira workflows, automation, permissions, reporting, and governance.
- Ability to design logical data models, data warehouse schemas, and BI solutions.
- Experience with BI tools (Tableau, dashboards), SQL, PL/SQL, and performance optimization.
- Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
- Team‑oriented mindset and ability to provide reliable client support.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (equivalent experience accepted).
- Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP‑620, ACP‑120, or equivalent) preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Atlassian ecosystem (Confluence, Bitbucket) and marketplace apps.
- Experience in DevSecOps or Platform Engineering environment.
- Knowledge of FISMA, SOX, FedRAMP, and other information security standards.
- Federal government experience.
