Cloud Engineer
**Role Summary**
Senior Azure DevSecOps Engineer responsible for building, operating, and securing an Azure cloud platform from inception to production. Focus on Terraform‑driven IaC, CI/CD, observability, and a security‑first mindset across all layers.
**Expectations**
- Deliver a stable, scalable, and secure Azure environment.
- Manage infrastructure entirely through Terraform and Terraform Cloud.
- Own end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines with strong observability.
- Embed security controls into design, code, and runtime.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, architecture, and security teams.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Build, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure per approved architecture.
- Design, code, and version IaC with Terraform (including remote state, workspaces, and workflow‑driven deployments).
- Operate CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
- Deploy and manage observability stack (Grafana, metrics, logging, alerting).
- Provision and manage AKS clusters, managed API gateways, managed database services, networking, and security components.
- Scale Azure services to meet performance and availability needs.
- Apply IAM/RBAC policies following least‑privilege principles.
- Monitor platform health; troubleshoot production incidents via logs, metrics, and alerts.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post‑mortem reviews.
- Ensure secure design, configuration, and compliance alignment.
**Required Skills**
- Expert proficiency in Terraform (IaC) and Terraform Cloud (remote state, workspaces, workflows).
- Deep hands‑on experience building and operating Azure platforms, including AKS, managed services, networking, and IAM.
- Strong CI/CD pipeline design and operation skills.
- Experience with microservices architecture and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Proficient with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
- Advanced troubleshooting using logs, metrics, dashboards, and alerts.
- Security‑first mindset: least‑privilege access, secure configurations, guardrails, audits, compliance.
- Ability to embed security into infrastructure, pipelines, and runtime.
- Excellent collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
**Nice to Have**
- DevSecOps tooling, Terraform Cloud integration with CI/CD, incident response/on‑call experience, regulated/audited environment exposure, cloud cost optimization.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Terraform Associate, and/or relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) preferred.
