Job Title: Senior Linux Engineer
Role Summary:
Responsible for the administration, configuration, and optimization of RHEL 8/9 Linux environments, ensuring high availability, security compliance, and performance for enterprise applications. Leads automation initiatives with Ansible and Satellite, manages patching and vulnerability remediation, and provides 24x7 on‑call support. Collaborates with cross‑functional teams to implement Linux‑based solutions that meet business requirements.
Expectations:
* 5+ years of Linux system administration experience (RHEL 8/9).
* Proven skill in server build, custom configuration, and performance tuning for Oracle databases.
* Strong knowledge of security patching, vulnerability management, and PCI compliance.
* Proficiency in automation tools: Ansible playbooks, Ansible Automation Platform, and Satellite 6.
* Operational experience with VMware and basic networking (TCP/IP, firewalls).
* Effective troubleshooting, incident resolution, and documentation.
* Availability for rotating on‑call support in a 24x7 environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform system tuning for application‑specific needs and standardize Linux environments.
2. Maintain OS and hardware upgrades, 3rd‑party software updates, and compliance with technology roadmaps.
3. Resolve incident tickets, remediate Secunia vulnerabilities, and conduct quarterly RedHat patching per PCI requirements.
4. Install, configure, and manage Linux operating systems and related software.
5. Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability.
6. Document all procedures, changes, and incidents.
7. Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to design and implement Linux‑based solutions.
8. Conduct research and development of new technologies aligned with business initiatives.
