Job title: Engineering Manager, Platform
Role Summary: Lead a cross‑functional engineering team to design, build, and maintain cloud‑native SaaS products, ensuring quality, scalability, and on‑time delivery.
Expactations: Drive technical strategy, mentor team members, coordinate with product and design stakeholders, manage project timelines, mitigate risks, and uphold security and architectural standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define project requirements, create schedules, and allocate tasks; monitor progress.
- Lead and coach 10–15 engineers, fostering a high‑performance, inclusive culture.
- Coordinate with product managers, designers, and executives on priorities and status.
- Prepare and present progress reports, risk assessments, and technical presentations to leadership.
- Design scalable, highly available APIs and data models, integrating with cloud services.
- Oversee CI/CD pipelines, maintaining a strong testing pyramid.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate technical risks and operational bottlenecks.
- Evaluate and integrate third‑party components to enhance platform capabilities.
- Implement security best practices across the stack.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years software engineering, 3+ in management.
- Proven leadership of engineering teams in SaaS, cloud‑native environments.
- Hands‑on expertise with Kotlin, Java, C#, & Python in enterprise settings.
- Strong API and data‑model design, scaling, high‑availability, and storage strategies.
- Proficiency with CI/CD, testing, feature toggles, and release management.
- Experience with NoSQL stores, caches, Kafka, event‑driven architecture, gRPC/Protobuf.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver under tight timelines.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
