Job Description
Job title: Civil Engineer Project Manager Role Summary: Lead land‑development projects from conception through construction, coordinating design, approvals, budgeting, and client relations while guiding junior staff and ensuring quality compliance. Expectations: Deliver projects on schedule and budget, maintain client satisfaction, produce accurate documentation, uphold safety and environmental standards, and continuously improve design processes. Key Responsibilities: - Lead project management for land‑development projects, including scheduling, coordination, and QA/QC of supporting staff activities. - Serve as primary liaison with approval agencies and clients for budget, invoicing, invoicing, and deliverable scheduling. - Coordinate pre‑construction and post‑construction activities, manage Letter of Credit reductions, construction certifications, municipal assumption, registration clearances, and financial tasks (invoicing, collections, backlog analysis). - Prepare and coordinate detailed design work: earthworks, site grading, sewer and water‑main design, road & parking lot design, utility coordination, stormwater management, groundwater management, erosion & sediment control, and phasing plans. - Produce and review Preliminary Servicing Reports, Functional Servicing Reports, Design Briefs, and Stormwater Management Reports. - Facilitate design coordination with consultant teams, client representatives, and approval agencies to expedite comment resolution. - Provide leadership, technical guidance, and training to junior engineers. - Maintain project documentation, reports, and technical records. - Actively participate in professional associations and committees. Required Skills: - Strong project management (lead, schedule, budget, risk management). - Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Subdivision & Site Plan Design. - Knowledge of stormwater management principles and practices. - Excellent written and verbal communication; report writing. - Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize tasks. - Problem‑solving and client‑oriented mindset. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field. - Professional Engineer (P.E.) classification is an asset but not required. ---
