Job Title: Head of Security
Role Summary: Lead and manage all aspects of physical, personnel, and executive security for a global defense‑tech organization, ensuring the safety of people, assets, and operations worldwide.
Expactations:
- Deliver a comprehensive, integrated security strategy that aligns with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain robust risk assessment and incident response capabilities for all security domains.
- Foster a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement across global teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and oversee corporate and executive security programs, including duty of care, executive travel risk, event security, and emergency response.
- Develop physical security layouts, access control systems, and camera coverage; manage visitor/contractor protocols, badge issuance, and secure facility access.
- Lead personnel security functions: pre‑employment screening, background checks, clearance submissions, renewal tracking, and compliance training (OPSEC, export control, info handling).
- Set logistics security standards for shipping, storage, and chain‑of‑custody of sensitive materials; collaborate with program and logistics teams on D‑gate and on‑site controls.
- Coordinate with the CISO on endpoint/device physical security, asset tagging, and return procedures.
- Create, publish, and maintain SOPs, drills, emergency procedures; conduct quarterly tabletop exercises and incident response protocols.
- Select and manage vendors for executive protection and guarding services, define SLAs, and conduct performance reviews.
- Influence and partner with global stakeholders, translating complex security issues for non‑technical audiences.
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience in physical security design, access control, and security technology deployment.
- Proven expertise in policy creation, risk management, and incident response.
- Leadership ability to guide cross‑functional teams and manage vendor relationships.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying security concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, innovative, and global environment.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or related field (preferred).
- Professional certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or equivalent.
- Military, law‑enforcement, or executive protection background preferred.
