Job Title: Network Administrator
Role Summary
Maintain and secure enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure across multiple office, plant, and cloud environments. Ensure high availability, performance, and compliance through proactive monitoring, configuration management, and incident response.
Expectations
- Deliver 99.9 % network uptime and low latency for users.
- Respond to Tier 1‑3 incidents and critical after‑hours emergencies.
- Keep documentation audit‑ready and continuously improve network processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, upgrade, and manage switches, routers, firewalls, wireless APs, and related devices.
- Monitor performance with tools such as PRTG, SolarWinds, or Nagios; troubleshoot L1‑L3 issues (routing, switching, DHCP/DNS, VPN, WiFi).
- Implement firewall rules, VPNs, ACLs, VLANs, 802.1X/NAC, and security hardening.
- Design and optimize high‑density Wi‑Fi, analyze spectrum, and support roaming.
- Support networked security systems (IP cameras, NVRs, access control).
- Provide Tier 1‑3 escalation support and collaborate with server, cloud, and application teams on deployments.
- Maintain IPAM, topology diagrams, change records, runbooks, and post‑incident reviews.
- Participate in after‑hours change windows and critical maintenance (not primary on‑call).
Required Skills
- 3+ years administering enterprise LAN/WAN networks.
- Strong TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, STP, DHCP/DNS, VPNs, LLDP, RADIUS, and Wi‑Fi expertise.
- Hands‑on experience managing firewall policies, site‑to‑site/remote VPNs, and network monitoring tools.
- Proficient with network configuration backup, firmware patching, and documentation.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and incident‑closure skills.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant certifications preferred: CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.
