Collaborate closely with senior scientists to implement solutions in Python or Julia, integrate continuous integration pipelines, and document performance outcomes. **Expectations:** - Deliver functional optimization modules within a 12‑week period. - Communicate progress and results clearly in written reports and team meetings. - Maintain code quality through unit testing and version control best practices. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and implement novel optimization schemes in Python or Julia. - Collaborate with senior scientists to evaluate algorithm performance on reactor design problems. - Create and maintain GitHub Actions for building, testing, documentation, and release workflows. - Conduct peer reviews and contribute to shared documentation. - Present findings in regular internal meetings and broader applied physics sessions. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in Python or Julia. - Strong grasp of numerical optimization and scientific computing concepts. - Experience writing unit tests and documenting code. - Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and version control workflows. - Knowledge of C++ or Fortran is a plus. - Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with senior researchers. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Currently pursuing a degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, or a related field. - No mandatory certifications required.
