Job Description: Job Title: Software Engineer Intern Role Summary: Develop and integrate software for autonomous systems, focusing on navigation, sensor fusion, and real-time processing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and document solutions for autonomous surface vessels. Expectations: Current student in computer science, software engineering, or related fields with programming skills. Proactive problem-solving and adaptability in a fast-paced technical environment. Key Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and test software components for autonomous navigation, sensor integration, and communication protocols - Optimize algorithms for real-time decision-making, path planning, and object detection - Develop testing frameworks and execute hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations - Author technical documentation (design specs, test plans, user manuals) - Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering teams for hardware-software integration Required Skills: - Proficiency in Python, C++, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Rust - Foundational knowledge of robotics, autonomous systems, and sensor technologies - Strong analytical thinking and debugging capabilities - Effective written and verbal communication for cross-team collaboration Required Education & Certifications: - Enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or equivalent - “U.S. Person” status required per U.S. export control regulations (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected non-citizen)
