Job Description

Job Title: French Immersion Teacher (Long-Term Occasional) Role Summary: Teach Grade 5 French Immersion and Core French curriculum in a fluctuating full-time equivalent (FTE) capacity. Deliver instruction, assess student performance, and support curriculum in French. Expectations: - Teach French immersion and Core French programs in Grade 5. - Adapt teaching schedules per fluctuating FTE assignment durations (e.g., 6 FTE to 76 FTE). - Demonstrate fluency in French for lesson delivery, communication, and assessment. Key Responsibilities: - Plan and deliver French Immersion and Core French curriculum content. - Assess student progress using French-aligned methods. - Participate in school activities (e.g., meetings, staff collaboration). - Provide timely feedback to students and parents. Required Skills: - Bilingual proficiency in French (speaking, writing, instruction). - French curriculum design and assessment expertise. - Classroom management and adaptation to variable FTE schedules. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant field. - Full Qualification in French as a Second Language (FSL Part 1). - Certificate of Qualification for teaching (current and valid). - Criminal Record Check (CRC) with vulnerable sector clearance.
