Job Title: Azure Cloud Architect
Role Summary: Design, implement, and govern scalable Azure cloud solutions for enterprise transformation. Drive architecture definition, migration strategy, and operational excellence across IaaS, PaaS, Kubernetes, and security domains, while coaching cross‑functional teams.
Expectations:
- Deliver secure, cost‑efficient, and automated Azure architectures at industry‑grade.
- Act as a technical leader, authoring standards, decision records, and reference designs.
- Transfer knowledge to DevOps, engineering, and data teams, fostering an Azure‑centric culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Define target Azure architectures (IaaS, PaaS, Serverless) and landing zones.
- Author Architecture Decision Records (ADR) and technical standards.
- Design and validate Azure storage solutions (Blob, Data Lake Gen2, Files, Managed Disks) with replication, lifecycle, and tiering strategies.
- Lead cloud migration assessments, strategy formulation, cutover planning, and rollback execution.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using ARM, Bicep, or Terraform; build CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
- Architect Kubernetes environments via Azure Kubernetes Service, manage registries (ACR), and orchestrate micro‑services.
- Enforce security and governance: Azure AD identity, RBAC, Key Vault secrets, encryption, Azure Policy, Blueprints.
- Deploy observability with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights; set up alerting, runbooks, and FinOps processes (cost analysis, autoscale, reservations).
- Produce cost reports and optimization recommendations.
- Collaborate with security, networking (ExpressRoute, VPN), DBA, data engineering, and support teams.
- Document architectures, security models, and operational guides.
Required Skills
- Deep experience with Azure cloud architecture (IaaS, PaaS, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in Azure Storage services, Azure Data Lake, Azure Files, Managed Disks.
- Migration planning and execution expertise.
- Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform).
- CI/CD design using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
- Kubernetes and container registry management (ACR).
- Azure identity, RBAC, Key Vault, Azure Policy, Blueprints.
- Observability tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights).
- FinOps knowledge: cost optimization, autoscaling, reservations.
- Ability to formalize standards, produce ADRs, and train teams.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Azure certifications: AZ-104 (Administrator), AZ-303/304 (Solutions Architect), or equivalent; plus advanced security or DevOps certifications advisable.
