- Build and leverage a broad network of stakeholders (investors, clinicians, regulators, partners).
- Contribute to the design and improvement of MaRS programs, content, and thought leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Advise on technology development, business model refinement, and reimbursement strategy.
2. Provide regulatory, compliance, quality management, and manufacturing guidance.
3. Develop go‑to‑market plans, partnership frameworks, and sales cycle acceleration tactics.
4. Counsel on capital strategy, investor outreach, and funding negotiations.
5. Support clinical validation, evidence generation, and integration of end‑users in product design.
6. Deliver individual advisory sessions and small‑group experiential learning.
7. Contribute to program strategy, help assess client needs, and shape service offerings.
8. Produce content for startup toolkits, thought‑leadership articles, and speaking engagements.
9. Engage with corporate partners and special venture cohorts as needed.
Required Skills:
- In‑depth understanding of med‑tech product lifecycle and regulatory pathways.
- Expertise in FDA/Health Canada approval processes, quality systems, and reimbursement frameworks.
- Strong business acumen: business model design, go‑to‑market, sales cycle, capital raising.
- Leadership and coaching abilities for executive teams and early‑stage founders.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and networking skills.
- Analytical mindset for strategic planning and problem solving.
- Ability to work independently and deliver consistent outcomes.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biomedical engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Master’s or MBA, or advanced clinical/engineering degree (preferred).
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CRP, CCP, or regulatory affairs credentials) are advantageous.
