Job Description

Job Title: Laravel Developer Role Summary: Mid‑level full‑stack Laravel developer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend APIs for a fintech SaaS platform. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to modernize the tech stack, integrate third‑party services, and deliver secure, high‑performance features. Expectations: • Full UK right to work. • Deliver production‑grade code within an agile sprint cadence. • Communicate effectively with DevOps, product, and design teams. • Own feature lifecycle from design to deployment and monitoring. • Continuously improve code quality, performance, and maintainability. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain robust Laravel‑based RESTful APIs. • Integrate third‑party APIs and external services. • Optimize MySQL schemas and queries for performance. • Collaborate with DevOps to refine CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows. • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architecture decisions. • Ensure secure coding practices and adherence to SOLID principles. Required Skills: • Advanced PHP and Laravel proficiency. • Strong understanding of SOLID design principles. • Experience with MySQL (schema design, query optimization). • API design and development expertise. • Git version control. • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes. • Experience with Azure services or similar cloud platforms. • Knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD, and IaC tools (Terraform/Ansible). • Exposure to Atlassian suite (Jira, Bitbucket) is advantageous. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). • No mandatory certifications, but Laravel, PHP, or cloud platform certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Fundamentals) are a plus.
