**Job Title:** Group Senior Legal Counsel **Role Summary** Lead the build and evolution of the group legal function for a fast-growing international foods corporation. Focus on integrating commercial legal strategies into business operations, scaling processes, and enabling efficient, risk-aware decision-making across global teams. Collaborate with cross-functional departments and international divisions to drive operational and strategic growth. **Expectations** Candidate must be a commercially oriented lawyer with a builder’s mindset, capable of thriving in a dynamic, undefined environment. Requires adaptability to balance transactional work, strategic planning, and stakeholder collaboration. Prioritize practical solutions over perfection. **Key Responsibilities** - Advise on commercial, procurement, and technology contracts. - Support M&A activity, including transaction due diligence and post-acquisition integration. - Develop governance frameworks, compliance protocols (e.g., data protection, IP), and contractual playbooks. - Oversee litigation risk, delegation authority, and regulatory compliance. - Design scalable legal tools (e.g., clause banks, automation systems) to streamline workflows and enable self-service for low-risk tasks. - Provide actionable legal guidance to accelerate decision-making across finance, procurement, IT, ESG, and HR teams. **Required Skills** - Expertise in commercial contract drafting and negotiation. - Experience in M&A transactions and post-merger integration. - Strong understanding of multi-jurisdictional legal compliance. - Process design skills (e.g., workflow templates, risk triage systems). - Collaborative stakeholder management and influence across functions. **Required Education & Certifications** - Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification. - Active legal certification (e.g., U.S. or EU bar license, depending on jurisdiction). - 5+ years of corporate legal experience, preferably in consumer goods or high-growth sectors.
